SMEs may apply for a maximum reimbursement of €1,500 for trademark fees

The European Commission has launched a grant scheme designed to help SMEs based in the EU to register their intellectual property rights. This scheme, referred to as the Ideas Powered for business SME Fund is being implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office and will run until the 16th of December 2022. Through this initiative SMEs may save up to €2,250.

The SME Fund runs in the form of a reimbursement programme that issues vouchers that can be used to partly cover trademark and design fees as well as patent fees. A maximum of €1,500 may be used for trademark and design fees while a maximum of €750 may be used on patent fees.

The SME Fund may be used for national, EU and international trademark registrations as well as national patent registrations.

SME Owners, authorized employees or their representatives can apply.

Funds are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
